The Urban League of Union County, in partnership with the Township of Hillside and the Hillside Public Library, invites families to a free, hands-on literacy experience designed to help young readers and writers build confidence,spark imagination, and have fun with storytelling during Black Children’s Book Week.

What to Expect
This Writing and Reading Lab is built to meet kids where they are—whether they love to read, love to write,
or are still finding their rhythm. Participants will explore reading and writing activities that encourage
creativity, expression, and early literacy growth in a supportive community environment.
